Volunteer Requirements
All families are required to fulfill 4 Volunteer Shifts* for the season.
*Families with only Gator Bits (and/or Developmental) meet participants are required to complete only two shifts for the season.
Volunteer shifts MUST be fulfilled for your swimmer to participate in meets. Please ensure your volunteer spots are selected. If a meet is short staffed, spots will be assigned to those who have not yet fulfilled their season requirement Please remember to complete your shifts to keep your swimmer eligible!
Meet Types & Volunteer Information
- Intrasquad: FXE Boys vs FXE Girls! A shorter, less crowded meet held in the cool morning. Used to build team spirit, practice, and introduce new swimmers to competition, it serves as a "mock meet" for official race protocols. This is a fantastic, low-pressure event for new volunteers to get comfortable with our procedures. Note: Volunteer shifts run the entire duration of the meet.
- Home Meets: Home Meets require a higher volume of volunteers, since we are the hosting team. Volunteer positions are split into 1st and 2nd half shifts (typically 2 hour shifts). The 1st half roles work from event 1-32, 2nd half roles swap into position before event 33 (100 IM) and stay until the last event, event 70.
- Away Meets: Split into 1st and 2nd half shifts. Please account for extra travel time.
- All-Star Meet: For qualifiers only. Volunteer roles are TBD and will be posted once the roster is announced.
Volunteer Role Selections/Changes:
You may adjust your selections until a few days prior to the event, at which point jobs are finalized. Should you be unable to fulfill your assigned role after this time, finding a replacement is your responsibility. If this should occur, please notify the Volunteer Coordinator of your replacement. Please reach out to the Volunteer Coordinator immediately regarding any extenuating circumstances.
Volunteers will receive a confirmation email containing check-in details one or two days prior to the swim meet. Please mark your calendars accordingly and keep an eye out for an email from the Volunteer Coordinator with lots of information.
